Sometimes you want to offer a download or something else without necessarily adding the person to your mail list.
Generally we think this isn’t a great idea – but in some cases it makes sense. If this is something you want to do – you can if you’re using either Gravity Forms or ContactForm7.
Gravity Forms
In order to use this feature with gravity forms you need to use the ‘Subscribe’ field from Advanced Fields.
1. Go to the Gravity Forms page and add a new form, or edit an existing one:
2. Choose the ‘Subscribe’ field from the Advanced Fields section.
3. Modify the field so it says what you want it to.
That’s it!
That will add a ‘subscribe me’ check box to your form like this one:
If they tick the box – they’ll be added to Spokal and sent to your Email Service Provider (ESP, like Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign). If they don’t – they’ll still be added to Spokal, but they will not be added to to your ESP.
ContactForm 7
1. Add a new form, or edit an existing one.
2. Add a checkbox field with the name set to ‘subscribe’ (note: the name is very important – it must be exactly ‘subscribe’). The label for the checkbox (in this example “Subscribe me” – can be changed to anything you like.
That’s it!
Now your form will look like:
If they tick the box – they’ll be added to Spokal and sent to your Email Service Provider (ESP, like Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign). If they don’t – they’ll still be added to Spokal, but they will not be added to to your ESP.
